Emirates ID is a must for all UAE residents as part of their residency requirement. Emirates ID serves as an identification purpose in all the Government departments. Banks  and Finance Companies have made it a mandatory requirement to process applications for credit purposes. Emirates ID is requirement everywhere these days. For example, if you are renewing your vehicle, at Immigration department.

Recently the Government also announced that Labour card and Emriates ID will be integrated. With banks like NBAD, even your ATM debit card can be replaced with Emirates ID. I am sure in the near future, all you need to carry is an Emirates ID instead of multiple cards in your pocket like Driver’s License, E-gate card, Debit Card and so on.

Someone asked me recently that they have applied for their Emirates ID and still have not received it. In this post I will teach you how you can check the status of your application online.

Below are the things that you need handy to check the status of your Emirates ID card:

-Application Number (PRAN) or

-ID Number (15 digits in front of the card) (in case of renewal)

Here is step by step guide to check the status of your Emirates ID card.

STEP 1:

Log on to http://www.id.gov.ae/ and click on the link called Services

STEP 2: The link will lead you to Services page

In this page, click on E-services

STEP 3: Click on the following link: http://www.id.gov.ae/en/services/e-services/id-card-status.aspx.

The link will show you below page:

STEP 4: Enter your Application Number or ID Number.

STEP 5: Once you click, Check Status, you will receive the page with status of your Emirates ID as in the below screen shot.

This is a very transparent way by the Department to show the status of your Emirates ID. 

Most of the people that contacted me have mentioned me have said that they have not received Emirates ID for a long time. The main reason may be that the integration of Labour Card and Emirates ID.
