As most of us already know the holy month of Ramadan will begin on the 29th of June 2014. I wish everybody Ramadan Kareem and may you have a blessed Ramadan.
Working hours during Ramadan are reduced by 2 hours as per UAE Labour Law.
Some norms that I have observed throughout past years in UAE during Ramadan are as follows:
- This is the most holy season for our Muslim brethren. Please respect that.
- Refrain from eating, drinking, chewing anywhere in public area. This I feel is a kind of respect that we pay to those who fast during this month. And I know it is very tough. I tried doing it.
- Do not play loud music during the day in your vehicles. (Does not mean you could play it loud at night!)
- Most restaurants have takeaway facility and delivery facility. Make use of it. But eat only in your houses or private places.
- Dress modestly.
Here is a Prayer Timetable for Ramadan for those residing in Dubai. The timings of the prayers change between places.
