Hello Deepak, a quick question: isn’t basic Arabic different than Emirati Arabic? I can learn formal Arabic all I want, but isn’t it possible that I won’t have a clue what Emiratis are actually saying (although they can understand me speaking formal Arabic)?
Diana,
Like in most of the languages, they have different dialects. An Emirati speaking Arabic may be different from how an Egyptian or a Jordanian.
Even in English, there are different ways and styles of speaking.
Your point is completely valid. You may not understand what an Emirati speaks but he/she may completely comprehend you speaking Arabic.
Note: The e-book on my blog is not Emirati Arabic.
Deepak
