Emirates ID is a must for all UAE residents as part of their residency requirement which is issued by Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. Emirates ID serves as an identification purpose in all the Government departments which is used to get government services, to vote in the election of Federal National Council. Emirates ID can be used by UAE citizens as a travel document to travel within the GCC Banks and Finance Companies have made it a mandatory requirement to process applications for credit purposes. Emirates ID is requirement everywhere these days. It is a legal requirement for all UAE citizens and residents to apply for one and carry it with them at all times. It can be used as a document to pass immigration through the eGates and smart gates at several airports in the UAE.
Emirates ID consists of below features highest level of accuracy and security
- Smart card

Steps to be followed in applying new Emirates ID:
Step 1: Emirates ID Application:
In order to apply the Emirates ID, Applicants can visit the authorized typing centers or they can also get the eForm through the online form available on the website of Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC)
Step 2: SMS
After submitting the form applicants will receive the SMS through mobile number registered in the Form mentioning the date and time , and the registration center to need to visit to complete the procedure
Step 3: Registration Center
After receiving the SMS, you need to visit the registration center mentioned to capture the fingerprint biometric with the below documents:

Valid Passport
UAE and GCC national who are officially residing in UAE can opt for Emirates ID with 24 hours on urgent basis . This service is known as Fawri. To get this service UAE and GCC national can visit https://www.ica.gov.ae/en/emirates-id-centers/registration-centers.aspx

Step 4: Fees
The total fees required to issue the ID card are based on the service channel you choose to get the Emirates ID:
As per the fees published by FAIC are as follows;
For one year : AED 100
For two years: AED 200
For three years: AED 300
Service Fees AED 40
For Urgent services AED 150
Printing Office Fees AED 30
If you wish to apply the emirate ID through the happiness center , the fees are as follows:
For one year : AED 290
For two years: AED 390
For three years: AED 490
If you wish apply the emirates ID through e-form or smart application , the fees are as follows:
For one year : AED 140
For two years: AED 240
For three years: AED 340
If you wish to apply the emirates ID through the typing centres, the fees are as follows:
For one year : AED 170
For two years: AED 270
For three years: AED 370
If you wish to apply the emirates Id through Amer services (Dubai) , the fees are as follows:
For one year : AED 195
For two years: AED 295
For three years: AED 395
Step 5: Tracking the Emirates ID application status
