Uber, an app which connects you with a driver with a touch of a button has announced their move to Dubai. I also learnt that the service is limited to classy cars. So, this makes it even easier to move around in Dubai in style!! Till now, people had to depend on Rent a Car companies.
General Taxi services in Dubai are mostly limited to traditional cars such as Toyota Camry and so on, Uber I believe aims to target a very niche sector. I am not sure whether this service is registered with the Authorities here!!
The news was announced at their site www.uber.com (A cab company).
Dubai is Uber’s first destination in the Middle East. I wish them all the best in one of the greatest cities in the world, Dubai.
Minimum fare is priced at AED 35.00. Base fare is placed at AED 12.50 plus per kilometer charge of AED 2.50+AED 1.50 per minute. Cancellation fee is at AED 35.
