How do the recruitment agencies in Dubai Abu Dhabi UAE function?

I wish there was a straight forward answer to this query. Even so, I will try to explain how the psyche of the recruitment agencies in Dubai Abu Dhabi UAE works.

First of all, you must understand one factor:  Recruitment agencies are here to fill a void in the market ie look for the right candidate for the job that is available with their client. There are hundreds of recruitment agencies in Dubai Abu Dhabi UAE and you must be careful while choosing the right agencies that match your preferences.

Here are a few tips to distinguish the good ones from the not so good ones:

  1. The good ones never ask you for a registration fee. After all, paying recruitment agencies does not guarantee you a job. They get paid for placing the candidates successfully.
  2. The good ones send professional follow up emails.
  3. The good ones give feedback on your CV and how you need to structure it to suit various positions. If you are applying for a banking job your CV needs to be structured in different way than when you were applying for a job at insurance company.

These are my experiences. You might have better ones. Do let me know in the comments below.

No recruitment agency will look at you from compassionate point of view. They would not recruit a ‘not so fit’ candidate for the job and put their reputation at stake. Think of them as mediators of talents. They are interested in matching the right / best candidates to the right jobs and get paid.

How do recruitment agencies make money?

Legitimate recruitment agencies make their money by placing the candidates in their client companies for a fee. Usually it is a percentage. Some of them charge 5% of the annual salary package of the candidate and in certain cases it may reach 10%-12% for higher management placements. So you see. It is a lucrative trade. All you need to do is to place the right candidate for the right job. But it is as complex too!

How to get the best out of recruitment agencies in Dubai Abu Dhabi UAE?

I have noticed some of my friends, sending CV by putting the receiver’s email in the BCC field of the email and sending at once. Well, it might work in some cases. But 99% of times, you might never receive a call. Let alone a call, you may never receive a reply other than auto response. I recommend that you pick up your phone and call the recruitment agency and ask them to connect to say, Banking or Engineering recruitment department. This way you will be able to build a RELATIONSHIP with a particular individual who will surely get you the right details. To reap good rewards build a personal rapport with the recruitment agent.

    1. The function of the Instrumentation Maintenance Technician is to provide front line hands on and technical support to commission and troubleshoot the facility’s electrical and instrumentation related equipment.
