Checking UAE Residence visa Grace Period Online
The UAE residence visa grace period is a short time after your visa expires. It gives you extra time to leave the country and fix any visa issues. But remember, it doesn’t extend your visa or let you stay legally in the UAE after it expires.
During this time, you need to organize your documents and leave the UAE. It’s illegal to work during this period, and you could get in trouble if you do. Make sure to get your passport stamped with an exit visa before you go.
Breaking the rules during the grace period means you might not get one again in the future. And if you stay longer than allowed, you could face fines and other penalties.
Wondering how long you can stay in the UAE after your residence visa has been canceled or expired? UAE residents get grace periods ranging from 30 days to six months, depending on their visa category.
To check your UAE residence visa grace period online:
- Go to the ICP smart services website at https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/login
. - Click on ‘Public Services’ and then ‘File Validity’.
- Choose either ‘search by file number’ or ‘passport information’ and select ‘Residency’.
- Enter your passport number and expiry date, or Emirates ID number, Emirates Unified Number (UID number), or file number.
- Provide your date of birth and nationality.
- Complete the captcha and click ‘Search’ to see your allowed days to stay in the country.
Additionally, when you receive your UAE residence visa cancellation form, you’ll see the exact date by which you should leave the country or change your residency status.
During the grace period, you can either leave the UAE or apply for a new residence visa.
Remember, overstaying fines in the UAE are Dh50 per day for individuals on any type of visa – residency, visit, or tourist visa.
