Having denied entry for my camera I had no way to take pictures of the concert. However, I could click some on my phone….but seriously with the crowd overflowing and a glass of beverage in one hand and phone on the other….it was next to impossible to get a decent picture. There was barely a place for me to move while I raised one hand towards the heavens hearing heavenly voices.
The perfect sync between the four Eagles, Don Henley, Glen Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit was evident even after 40 years of their existence as Eagles.
The song Seven Bridges Road was a perfect start and an ode to the Emirates Seven’s venue. Although the song is more than 40 years, it sounded as though it was as fresh.
Some of the songs performed:
- I can’t tell you why.
- Life’s been good.
- In the city,
- Lyin’ Eyes – Don Henley
- Peaceful easy feeling – Don Henley
- The long run
- The boys of summer
- Life in the fast lane
- Hotel California
‘On a dark desert highway’ was the perfect line for the Eagles Dubai gig. It was like all the people were waiting for the Hotel California song throughout the show and wonderfully did they perform! The best part I liked was the sound and how in-sync were the other performers. Done Events have not left a stone unturned to make this event a mega-success in the history of Dubai concerts.
Share your feelings if you have attended the Eagles concert in Dubai. If you have any pictures….do send them to me(deepak@machado.ws). Here is the report from Gulf News.
And here is the opening song:
This was once in a life time opportunity for me!
